Skalish – Another Memory, another Firelight

Words and Music: Aryana, 17.09.2002

There is a desert sunset glowing
in the glasses in our hands.
Again we gather round the fire
to remember our friends.
And we drink to those we lost
and to the ones who can be here,
to the ones we miss so deeply
and the ones that we hold dear.

There are memories within me
that helped me shroud myself in cold,
that made my spirit hard as stone
and killed the dreams I hold.
And I look into the faces
of the ones who are with me,
and I know they share the same,
share a painful memory.

But there′s a desert fire burning
in the glasses in our hands.
And I know that we will carry on
for I know that we are friends.
And we drink to those we lost
and to the ones who can be here,
to the ones we miss so deeply
and the ones that we hold dear.

There are shadows buried deep within
nestling sleeping in my heart
and I tried to shroud my soul in ice
so that they won′t tear me apart.
But you helped me to crush down
the walls that hindered me to fly
and in your tender loving arms
I learned again to cry.

There is a desert sunset glowing
in the glasses in our hands.
Again we gather round the fire
to remember our friends.
And we drink to those we lost
and to the ones who can be here,
to the ones we miss so deeply
and the ones that we hold dear.

One to those who are still with us...and another glass to absent friends.
