Words: Aryana, Music: Tarish
When I close my eyes, I see a thousand faces
I hear a thousand voices whisper in my mind
And deep inside I feel the thousand traces
Than all those lives have left within my life.
When I close my eyes, I see athousand faces
The men and women who just wanted to live free
But there was only one judgement for traitors
And I was just the curier of their death.
When I close my eyes, I see a thousand faces
So many of them could have been my trusted friends
But I was law, and all of them were guilty
And now their precious blood is on my hands.
When I close my eyes, I see a thousand faces
The volunteers who followed Shadow-Guardian's call
Who heeded, as I led them against Shadows
Who boldly fought and bravely died in war.
When I close my eyes, I see a thousand faces
The blades who rest now safely in these caverns deep
My orders sent them out to death and danger
They followed me with trust I never earned.
So it goes on, I'll always see the faces
Of those who helped me to become what I am now
I'll always will remember how I met them
And never will forget the way they left.
When I close my eyes, I see a thousand faces
I hear a thousand voices whisper in my mind
And deep inside I feel the thousand traces
Than all those lives have left within my life.
The price of commanding means sending your dearest friends out to war.
The price of being a highlord's advisor means
to hold the judging sword in your own hands.
Theran has payed this price – and still he pays.
