Ichabod′s Lament

Words and Music: Aryana

Forgive me, Love, what I have done,
I thought that I was right.
I know for sure that I will pay
for what I did to you.
Each day is filled with sorrow now,
each dream nightmare will be
My lessons I learned well this day
being right is sometimes hard.

Forgive, young friend, what I now do
your lessons you will learn.
Behold, there′s evil everywhere
even in virtue′s disguise.
Farewell, young friend, I have to leave
it′s for the better, you will see.
And even though I know you can′t
please don′t think too bad of me.

Farewell, cursed place, in nightmares sleep
Sleepy Hollow, from now on.
You′ve taken ev′rything from me
and with nothing I will leave.
There is no truth, there is no faith,
nor love, justice and peace.
There′s only nightmares, pain and strife
betrayal, greed and hate.

Inspired by the movie "Sleepy Hollow".
Remember Ichabod leaving Sleepy Hollow, telling young Masbath his doubts about Kathrina?
